Hot Springs — Authorities are still on the lookout for the 2013 Miss Arkansas crown that was stolen following the pageant on Saturday night.

The robbery took place following the pageant at the Summit Arena in Hot Springs. Newly crowned Miss Arkansas, Amy Crain, was walking to her car when a white female approached her and demanded the crown.

“She came up behind me and told me to hand it over,” Crain says. “I took off running and I heard her say ‘Go get her’. Next thing I know I was being chased through the parking lot by vicious dogs. They caught me and started biting at my stilettos. That is the point where I gave up, those shoes cost too much to be chewed on by attack Chihuahuas. They ripped my innocent shoes to shreds right in front of me.”

Cain was tackled by the robber, who then ripped the crown from her head. Witnesses say they saw a young brunette woman fleeing the scene with 2 Chihuahuas screaming “it is mine, I win”. The suspect then entered a green Volkswagen Beetle with a Ouachita Baptist license plate and drove away.

Authorities tell us that the crime scene offered very little evidence pointing to a suspect. The only item found was a pageant sash that said “Miss Congeniality”. At this time they are unsure if it is related, although they have been unable to locate Miss Congeniality winner Abby Lindsey.

Crain was in tears at a press conference following the event, pleading for the return of her crown and the replacement of her shoes following the brutal attack. Crain says in light of the event she will change her platform from “Women Against Satire” to focus on a message promoting anti bullying.
