Jonesboro — Arkansas State University Athletic department today announced the departure of head football coach Bryan Harsin. The program additionally announced the hiring of Bryan Harsin as the next head football coach, with an introduction ceremony set for next Tuesday at the Convocation Center.
“We would like to thank coach Harsin for his time leading the Red Wolf football team. We wish him luck at whatever SEC school we were left for this time,” ASU Athletic Director Terry Mohajir said in a statement. “It is an opportunity for us to build our program for the future. After a long and careful search we have selected Bryan Harsin as the next head football coach for the Red Wolves.”
The departure of Harsin marks the fourth consecutive coaching change for the ASU program. The departures began with Steve Roberts in 2010, who was replaced by Huge Freeze the following season. Freeze left the program for Ole Miss in 2011 and was replaced by Gus Malzahn. Malzahn left the following year for a head coaching position at Auburn which led to coach Harsin’s arrival in Jonesboro.
“Coach Harsin brings a strong coaching background to ASU. He recently led Arkansas State to their third consecutive GoDaddy.com bowl after successful coordinator positions at Texas and Boise State,” Mohajir says. “We are very excited to see the direction and vision he will bring to our program. We believe his coaching style will mesh well with the previous coach’s philosophy.”
The ASU Red Wolves will play in their third consecutive GoDaddy.com bowl, following a 7-5 regular season, on January 5th in Mobile, AL. The Red Wolves will likely face Northern Illinois, who lost for the first time this season in the MAC championship on Friday. ASU has named Bryan Harsin the interim head coach for the game, although incoming coach Bryan Harsin is expected to be in attendance.

What?!
I understand this is satire, but the misused words in this story just shouldn’t be there! (Forth instead of fourth, lead instead of led – just a couple of examples).
Satire? Bad satire.
Is he staying or leaving ???
What? Makes no sense
WHAT??????
More confused after reading this ….
It’s a joke, people! Crying out loud, some folks got no sense of humor!!
The Onion this is not.
Stupid satire
This writer needs to get his facts straight. He’s got things in the wrong place. Namely his head
I hope he’s leaving, I don’t like his style of coaching, this was by far the worst season in 3 years, he shows favoritism to players he brought in when there were clearly better players already there.
Ahahahahaha
