Bret Bielema Introduces Razorback Gang Signs to Connect with Little Rock Fans

Fayetteville — Arkansas Razorback head coach Bret Bielema announced this weekend the official Razorback gang sign following the 34-14 victory over Louisiana this weekend.

The new gang sign comes in advance of this weekend’s War Memorial game. Bielema hopes the gang signs help him connect better with Little Rock fans.

“Director Long and I have had a number of conversations about strengthening our connection with the Little Rock fan base,” Bielema says. “When I visited Little Rock to speak at the Touchdown Club last month my first thought was that we need a gang sign. Metropolitan area, a little more urban, people already wearing lots of red… It really seems to fit. So Jen and I came up with one. The last thing we want is for the Little Rock fans to think we are just a bunch of honkies who have moved in on their football program, we need to connect and show we are down with all that.”

The Bielema’s have reached out on social media to Little Rock fans and have asked them to post pictures of themselves “Throwing up the A” using the hastag #ThrowTheA.

The University is calling on local graffiti artist to paint As on buildings and stop signs around Little Rock to show their support. The Razorbacks will add “Gin and Juice” to their drink menu for official tailgate this weekend.
