How Can You Support Rock City Times?
From the beginning we made a silent commitment to keep Rock City Times 100% free. That means no paywalls, no premium subscriptions, or any other ways websites find to make a little money off readers.
Occasionally though someone asks how they can help support us. So we came up with a list. Most of these are absolutely free ways that make a huge impact to what we are doing.
1. Share – Sharing our stories is seriously the biggest thing you can do to help. The primary way we are able to generate traffic is through Facebook, Twitter, and various blog posts and message boards. By sharing you help us not only reach the audience we already have, but reach new people. This drives everything you see below.
2. Click – We are 100% funded through advertising. Some of these are great local businesses we chose to promote, some are from national advertisers that pay us per click. The money we are able to generate from the site go to pay hosting bills, put on events, and hopefully some day pay our writers. Essentially the more money we generate the better Rock City Times becomes. So when you are done reading an article, try clicking on an ad or two. It helps more than you can imagine.
3. Merchandise – Initially we were reluctant to offer paid merchandise, however we received a large number of request for it. So we decided to open a little shop. Currently we have one tshirt for sale, we will increase to other shirts and items later. If you are interested please visit the store by clicking the banner below.
4. Advertise – Finally some of you are business owners. We offer world class promotion of your business through our advertising options. I have been a marketer and advertiser for 12+ years and have built the advertising to maximize value for each placement. It is something that is continuously measured and adjusted to bring more benefit.
We deliver more traffic than any other media type website in the state to a highly engaged audience. Because of lower overhead we also offer advertising rates that are far lower per performance than anyone else. We love promoting local businesses. Check out our advertising page to see ways we can work together.
