Breaking: Chad Morris Out as Head Coach of the Razorbacks

FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas announced this morning that head football coach Chad Morris has been terminated following the loss yesterday to Western Kentucky.

The university has reached out to former coach John L. Smith to step in as interim head coach in the wake of Morris’ departure.

“John L did a great job stepping in on short notice previously following Petrino,” athletic director Hunter Yurachek stated. “He can’t possibly do worse than Morris for the remaining two games of the season.”

Morris had only 4 wins over his two seasons as the Razorback coach, including zero victories against SEC opponents and only two against FBS teams. His tenure marks the lowest winning percentage for any Razorback head coach in history. Smith meanwhile managed the same number of victories in his single season as head coach along with two wins against SEC teams.

Smith was unavailable for comment at the time of the announcement but did send out a short tweet simply saying “Smile Bitches, I’m Back!!!”

Yurachek said he would start the hiring process immediately for a head coach. He also stated he would enter a new contract with Coca-cola for the soft-drink rights in the stadium if coach Bobby Petrino would consider coming back.
