Early Polling Suggest Senate Race Between Pryor and Cotton to be a Dead Heat.

Rock City Times’ election center has conducted our first poll on the 2014 Senate race between Mark Pryor and Tom Cotton. Our numbers tell us that the race is an even 50/50 split.

The polling surveyed 500 eligible* voters from across the state last night to gauge initial reaction to Tom Cotton’s entry into the race and negative campaigning among the two candidates. Here are the results

Who do you plan to vote for in the 2014 Senate race:
Tom Cotton: 50%
Mark Pryor: 50%

Which candidate do you feel has the best record on foreign policy:
Tom Cotton: 50%
Mark Pryor: 50%

Which candidate do you feel has the best record on economy:
Tom Cotton: 50%
Mark Pryor: 50%

Which candidate do you feel has the best record on welfare:
Tom Cotton: 50%
Mark Pryor: 50%

Which candidate do you feel has the best record on healthcare:
Tom Cotton: 50%
Mark Pryor: 50%

Survey data:

Of the 500 residents surveyed 2 chose to respond:
1 respondent self identified himself as Tom Cotton
1 respondent answered the phone as Mark Pryor’s campaign manager

Of the 498 that did not respond, or did not answer the questions asked:
234 hung up
26 said they did not want any and hung up
25 said they already had enough and hung up
19 suggested having sexual intercourse with myself (paraphrasing)
14 suggested I terminate my current life (paraphrasing)
8 suggested I terminate the life of either of the senatorial candidates (paraphrasing)
4 asked if I could send them a prostitute
4 asked if I had any drugs (assorted varieties)
2 said their were already on drugs
162 used a variety of one word, 4 letter phrases, and then hung up the phone

 

*by eligible voter we mean we had a phone number and did not sound like a 2 year old.
