Following a tweet that was deemed “a poor reflection of Arkansas’ character”, Representative Nate Bell has been put in timeout and grounded from the computer by Arkansas Speaker of the House Davy Carter.

Early Friday Morning Representative Nate Bell tweeted in regards to the current situation involving a lockdown in Boston following a shoot out with the bombing suspects: “I wonder how many Boston liberals spent the night cowering in their homes wishing they had an AR-15 with a hi-capacity magazine?”. The tweet caused an immediate reaction from many Arkansas voters, some even calling for Bell’s resignation.

In an afternoon release from Speaker of the House Davy Carter the speaker says “This was a very poor reflection of Arkansas’ character, ” Carter states. “We are trying hard to shake this image of Arkansas, the rest of the nation will never take us seriously if they continue to think we are not mature enough to handle situations like this. My office has been in touch with Representative Bell and he has been told to tell everyone he is sorry. In addition Bell has been put in timeout in the corner of the house floor and we have grounded him from his computer for a month.”

Bell’s office did release a statement later this afternoon on his facebook page simply saying “Sorry, I didn’t mean it.”

RockCity Times has spoken Bell’s office and his mom tells us that he really means it this time, and he will try to play nicer in the future.
