Wild River Country to Add Children Only BYOB Days

North Little Rock water park Wild River Country announced today that after careful consideration they will begin holding monthly BYOB events for children 18 years old and under.

The move comes after an adults only BYOB (Bring Your Own Beer) event this past Saturday (June 20th) spiraled out of control causing multiple fights, stolen tickets, and a number of people illegally entering the park after the number of tickets allotted for the event out.

“In our 30 years of operation we have never seen an event escalate this quickly,” park representative Andy Dwyer tells us. “We never had this problem when our focus was on providing a quality park for children. They never behave like this. The obvious solution is to keep the adults out.”

Wild River Country says that if the children only days are successful they will consider a permanent age restriction for the 2016 season.

The park says while the adults only night was disaster, it did result in the highest interest level the struggling park has seen in recent history.

“Clearly the adults could not handle themselves,” Dwyer continues. “However I think the addition of BYOB to the park showed some real promise. For our first ever children only event we hope to include a promotion to hand out special Dora the Explorer beer coozies to the first 1,000 kids to enter that reminds the kids to drink responsibly. We really believe this will be a fun, safe event for all … under 18.”

The official date for the Children only BYOB day has not been set. Park Officials tell us the event will be sometime in July and to keep an eye out for a special announcement this Saturday morning on local stations during the cartoons.
